Customer Experiences

Nice thick neck, great sounding. Love the boost-function/switch, makes the guitar hot at the flick of the switch. The only thing I don’t like, and that I think is a mistake Eastwood made when making the guitar is the positioning of the front strapbutton. It’s on top of the guitar, but should be on the back of the guitar on the bortom of the neck for comfort/to make the strap secure. Where it is at now makes it risky to use the strap… But all in all a great guitar, love it.

Fantastic guitar! I had a Gibson RD Artist decades ago and always regretted selling it. Not particularly for the sound, but because of the looks, feel and playability. There are other options for a cost effective RD out there, but Eastwood has the scale length right, which was one of the things that made the RD so unique. The body is thicker but nearly the same weight because it is basswood instead of maple. The neck is different, but super comfortable and still a nice hybrid of Gibson feel and Fender scale. Basswood is nice and light and resonant, but dents easily - I wish the finish was a tad tougher to compensate. Anyway the look and feel of this guitar is so good. The biggest surprise for me was the sound. Gibson gave me a pretty guitar that was sonically “difficult,” but the Eastwood sounds punchy and bright. I love bridge humbuckers that sound good clean or with a touch of OD. This guitar nails that. And the boost is no gimmick - it quickly feels essential to the performance of this guitar and gives it a lot of dimension. So surprised. Shouldn’t have been - I had a used Sidejack years ago that was in rough shape when I got it, but when I set that up, same deal: great playability, sound and looks. Very satisfied!

You know this Eastwood RD I got from you is one of the baddest ass guitars I own! I have well over a 100 guitars from a couple hundred to over 3 grand a guitar and rotate them on a regular basis or as I need a particular sound, but the RD has not moved from my player stand since I got it. I have upgraded the tuners to locking Grovers, tried several different bridges and stop tails but ended up gong back to the stock one, same with the nut, tried bone and brass, put the stock one back one, put Alessandro 500k pots, Switchcraft 3 way and input jack and this has become the baddest ass guitar and the center of attention when people come to my shop or a buddy shows up. I have tried a couple sets of pickups in it, got a set of Sucker Punch PAF's in there and sound amazing with this set up, but will hang onto the stock pups, might throw those back in it. they sound pretty freaking wicked as well. Did a little fret dressing, not that it needed it, but just because and I am real picky about frets, but its now at the top of the food chain and I dont see it moving from there anytime soon. One of the best guitar investments I have ever made, thank you!!

Great guitar for the price! The pick ups are nice and the ability to switch the preamp settings on the active pickups is a nice touch. The build is solid and the tuners hold well. Great for metal and definitely great for anyone who likes ghost. At first the only down side to it that I found is that the guitar is more neck heave than I'm used to, but after a bit you get used to the weight of it. The neck profile is spot on and the frets are done well. Would definitely recommend!
