Got my Warren Ellis Tenor 2P a little while ago. The instrument was properly set-up and ready to go straight out of the box. The pickups are good and supplement each other well. Just the right amount of output for this kind of a guitar on the humbuckers and the sound is meaty enough. The guitar is easy to play. Naturally with the four strings the neck is not too wide so it takes a while to get used to it. The tonal balance & the instrument’s response to playing is good. All & all a very inspiring & nice instrument. Been playing it a lot since I got it! The basic tuning GDAE (in fifths) is a nice variation from the regular world of the electric guitar. Recommended! I love the Warren Ellis tenor. It’s giving me a lot of song ideas and inspiration I wouldn’t have found on a regular guitar. I still haven’t changed the strings and I’ve had it for 6 years. So I just in case in quarantine I finally broke a sting I’d have back-up exactly like the ones that came on it when I bought it from Chicago Music Exchange.

I’m not a guitarist, I’m a poet and a percussionist, but I’ve played banjo as an instrument to accompany my voice. As of late, I’ve sought something to better reflect my new body of work, one quite drenched in post-punk vibes, and then I came across Eastwood’s line of electric tenors, specifically that designed by a Bad Seed. My duo, Flames of Discontent, had a brief set in an East Village venue the other night, and it all came together. We are now planning on a new album.

I’ve been playing the uke for a while but missed the comfort of a full size guitar After several rejections from guitar techs. I found one who was able to restring My Warren Ellis tenor to g c e a and have been having a blast every since then

I've played guitar, bass and practically anything else that makes a sound for years, but have always gravitated toward things that were more off the beaten track, so when a friend of mine loaned me his grandfather's Gretsch electric tenor guitar I was hooked. Songs just started pouring out of it! I knew at some point I'd have to return the Gretsch so I began looking for options and that's where Eastwood and Warren Ellis came in. I'd seen Warren live with the Dirty Three on their first US tour and was floored at what a musician he was. Since then I followed him through the Bad Seeds, through Grinderman, though Nick Cave's solo work and Warren's own, so when I saw his name attached to the Ellis Tenor I knew this was the way to go! I got a two pickup cream WE tenor and haven't looked back! I absolutely LOVE that guitar! It's feel, it's sound (mostly through the neck pickup) and how less i.e. four strings allows me to do more than a standard six string! I tune it from low to high D-G-B-D and like the Gretsch, songs just pour out of it! I use it for all my recording projects and live and it's never failed me as an instrument or as a conversation starter (somany people are curious about it!). Currently my next purchase will be either the Ellis baritone tenor or the Eastwood Classic tenor in a natural finish (that thing is gorgeous!). But that could all change depending on what Eastwood puts out next, but for now four strings does it all!

I loved the Sidekick Baritone so much I decided a Warren Ellis Tenor was the logical next choice. The Tenor looks like the love child of a Fender Jazz Bass and a Stratocaster. I have no idea what I'm doing with it, but it sure is fun.
